3 weeks till back to work DS hates nursery so far

MY 11 month old son is sobbing his heart out for the hour I am currently leaving him in nursery. I am due back to work full time in 3 weeks and am worried I am damaging my gorgeous boy by leaving him like this. Help!

How long has he been in nursery so far? If it's just the first week, I would give it some time.

Are you totally happy with the nursery and the staff who are looking after your ds? Or do you have any niggling worries or just "bad feelings" about any of them?

Are there any alternatives for you, eg childminders?

My ds was l ike this when I started settling him in at nursery (at 8months). We had several two-hour crying sessions. I was starting to despair and wonder if I just couldn't go back to work. Over a month he had two settling in sessions a week and eventually he did settle. He's now there two days a week and mostly doesn't even notice when I leave as he's too keen on playing!
So, from my experience, don't despair just yet.
Going through that also really helped him to be happy staying with people other than me outside nursery too.
