Work from home ideas

Hi. I'm a stay at home mum to a 3 year old. However I would like to do some kind of work from home that makes me a bit of money. I currently do Avon but that doesn't really earn me anything. Just wondering if any of you mums out there either work from home yourself or have tried any ideas that have worked for you? Thankyou Smile

Hi,

A couple of my friends have ventured into 'the body shop at home.' They are happy with the income and meeting new people though their Facebook groups.

Have you thought about freelancing?

Hi. Do you know what they do, like do they buy and sell body shop products from home or is it some service they give from home? Thankyou x

The Body Shop at home is similar to Avon, but more about throwing parties. You’re going to be touting for business amongst friends. I know someone who tried it, and gave up pretty quick. Those MLM schemes aren’t really the greatest idea for someone without money to lose - most people make a loss from them, including friends who get fed-up with being targeted. Remember, you should also declare those earnings to HMRC.

There are other homeworking jobs that don’t involve direct selling. What are you good at? Job sites list home-working jobs separately, so may be worth a search?

Hi,

They purchase a package of products worth roughly £250 for around £50. The girls I know set up a Facebook page and sell advertise through there and now have members to review products etc. They can also recruit members to form a team and receive additional commission. Tbh I only suggested it as they are quite happy with the income hey receive for the flexibility they have. Maybe look into it and decide for yourself, the only advantage over Avon I can see is that the body shop is more a high street brand.

There's some interesting reading about MLM type companies here:

Anything that requires you to shell out in advance in the hope to sales isn't a good bet for most people.

^ yep it’s always a good idea to weigh up pros and cons in anything before investing money as there isn’t a guaranteed income to make.

99% of network marketers make a loss. The people you know are 'faking it until they make it' to draw you in. They get a commission if you sign up. Please avoid any multi level marketing schemes as they are a con- search Botwatch in mumsnet chat and you'll find out why.
