Please can anyone suggest a good employment solicitor they have used/know someone that has used in the London area that can deal with a discrimination claim. Ideally one that does n't charge £300 per hour! Thanks

Try Wendy Leydon at Cater Leydon Millard here I don't know what she charges, and she is outside of London, but she is very good.

Try Alison Downie at Bindman & Partners. They are a big firm but the name alone can be worth its weight in gold in terms of how your company reacts. And the big firms will always use juniors to do most of the work at much lower rates than the partners charge. If you google Downie & Bindman you will see the stuff they deal with. My company folded completely the minute they knew Bindmans were representing me, but they held out for over a year against one of my colleagues in the same position (who was dismissed at the same time) - the only difference was the solicitor we used. Good luck

Fox Williams in the City are good. Partners will charge over £300 but the assistant solicitors should be good. Don't have a name there I'm afraid.

Why don't you try the CAB in the first instance. They are free if they can help you.
