Apprenticeship interview

Should I discuss childcare and tax credits/benefits in the interview or should I wait and only mention them if I get it? They know I have a kid already I put it in the application so maybe they'll anticipate me bringing up childcare...Help!

Why would you need to bring up tax credits or childcare in an interview?

Smokenbubbles · 30/03/2018 19:02

Because I need to know whether I'll get them or not. If I went to college I'd get care to learn for being under 20 (money towards childcare), but if I have an apprenticeship it's not clear whether I'd get working tax credits or not- depends on whether the salary is considered a wage or an allowance I think.

As a recruiter I think I'd find this a bit strange. It's something you need to check yourself independently with the apprenticeship scheme I think.

My husband had an apprenticeship a few years ago, he received working tax credits as we have a child. Hope that helps little bit

I don't think the person interviewing you will know the answer to that.

This isn't something you would ask at an interview as it is irrelevant to your employer. As long as you know the wage you should work this out yourself.

Ok thanks all.
