Went for an internal interview because I’m really frustrated in role I’m in. I want to get back to using my specialty. I didnt get it as the role was very specialised. Got the you did SO well but then the feedback turned into that I didn’t come across enthusiastically. My current boss was there and he then said he wanted to address my lack of enthusiasm further as while I’ve had no client complaints, he didn’t want to jeopardise my future chances of getting another internal role because of how I come across! I know he’s doing it with the best intentions but truth is I’m so bored and frustrated with the current role, I feel it needs a fresh face. Based on this experience I don’t feel I have any chance of getting another internal role or promotion despite having done everything well and made the company loads of money! I feel the comments are very personal. I need the job right now as sole breadwinner and it will take time to find something else right. How do I ride this wave when I don’t feel v enthusiastic!
