Hi All,
I wonder if you can help me, I go on maternity leave in May 2018 my employer said I cannot take my holiday before my maternity as I haven’t accrued this yet but he also won’t let me carry over my 2018 holiday into 2019, I I would have accrued 15 days holiday from May till December and our holiday goes from January to January.
Should I still get paid for these holidays even tho I will be on maternity leave? Or will I just lose all my holiday entitlement for 2018.

You are still entitled to accrue holiday whilst on maternity leave. If they are refusing to allow you to take it upfront (I.e. before accrual) then they will have to pay you for it at the end of the year when it renews.

I have 27 days holiday + all bank holidays accrued whilst on mat leave. I'm taking 2 weeks before leave starts in July (our year starts April so I won't have accrued that much by then) and then the rest will be added on to the end of my leave, even though we'll be in a new year by then!

You can take your annual leave at the end of your maternity leave. Therefore you're not effectively carrying it over into 2019, even though that's when you'll take it.

My maternity leave ends in July but I won't actually return to work until mid November because I'm using up all my annual leave before I return.
