Hi
Previous employers have deducted one days holiday - as I had used one day more than My entitlement for the period I was there. I am querying the amount which was £97 gross.
My annual salary is £25,000.

Can anyone shed light on the formula used.
Thanks

How many hours per week are you contracted to work and what is a day in this context?

PositiveAttitude · 23/03/2018 07:00

If you work 5 days a week that is roughly correct. I would work it out as £96.15 to be exact, but maybe they round up to nearest £.

5 days a week is 260 days a year (5 x 52) then divide £25,000 by 260 = £96.15 to get the daily rate of work.

Assuming you work 5 equal days per week then it’s correct as this is your day rate

Days per year = 52x5 = 260

25000/260 = £97 rounded up to the nearest £

Seems to be 25000 / 260. Where 260 is the number of working days in a year (52wks x 5days) inc bank hols

They're a pound out.

There's 52.14 weeks in a year. You earn £479.48 a week.

If you work 5 days that's £95.90 per day.

Of course if you work 3 or 6 days for example that changes up or down.

I do these calculations for my team too often quite a lot

Thank you everybody - yes I work 5 days - so it's correct !
