Individual meeting with Management as part of redundancy/reduced hours

We were told several weeks ago that our hours may be cut in my case from 5 days a week to 3. Nothing has been decided yet. I have been offered an individual meeting in a couple of weeks. What will this be for? Do they have to do it? What should I do at this meeting?

It's a long time since I was made redundant but seem to remember it was a standard thing you had to have.

There is however a good section on the moneysaving expert website all about redundancy and the processes and what to expect. Might be a good place to start.

Also if you have legal insurance on your house insurance check to see if they can provide any advice...

Normal procedure and they have to do it.
The content will depend on your employer's attitude but it should be an open conversation about the changes proposed, how and why they will affect you and an opportunity to ask any questions.
To prepare, write down your questions before the meeting because you'll forget them in the meeting. Think about how you can use your skills differently to support the new ways of working.
Try to be open minded though.

See if you can get soneone to go to the meeting with you too.
