Need to 'sell myself'

So I work as a medicinal receptionist at a gp practice. I am applying for a HCA role in the local
Hospital.. I've filled all of the application except from the 'supporting information' I'm 27 and only ever had 3 jobs. Filling in applications really isn't my strong point! Help!

Have you got a job specification and description? The best thing to do is write about how you meet each individual criteria on there. This will be how you score points in the application process.

Yes what strawberry said, match up your skills to the person and job specification.

I find it so hard to do. Yeah there is a job description and they have qualities they'd like
You to match. I struggle to explain without rambling on x

Just get something down and then it’s a starting point to make it better.

Just try and be really clear. I know it's back to school but use the old point, evidence, explain!

For example if the job description says something like 'experience with working in difficult situations'

You could say 'during my current role I have had to adapt to working within difficult service user situations, for example some patients may become irritable and angry and it is up to me to form positive relationships with the service user and demonstrate trust to defuse the situation.'

Or if it says 'experience in working with IT' you explain what IT applications you use and why.

Try not to babble too much and sick to the point. Specific examples such as 'once there was a woman who did...' can be used for the interview.

That's not the best example but hopefully you see what I mean.
