Work & School how do you make it work!

I currently work 4 days a week and my employer is really flexible with how I do this to ensure this works.

My little boy is going to full time school later this year and I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on how they have made working 4/5days a week with balancing school pick ups etc?

I don’t have family close by so I can’t rely on anyone else for help. I was thinking about going up to work 5 days but starting and finishing a bit earlier each day but at the same time not sure if I should keep my day off to do all the other jobs I need to do at home so I can spend quality time with my son on weekend!

Does anyone have any advice?

Thank you in advance. I’ve never posted on here before so hopefully I’ve done it right!

I have a very flexible employer and was working 4 days 930-230 when my youngest started school back in September. I've just made the change to 5 days and as a result have more holiday entitlement which will allow me to have the same flexibility when needed time for assemblies etc. My decision to go to 5 days was purely monetary. Hope things work out well for you.

I have worked 30 hours a week for many years and work from 8:30 to 2:30 monday to friday so I could pick up from school every day.
My daughter went to breakfast club before school and we had time for activities and friends home after school. We also used to run some errands after school and I have had a cleaner for years so I can spend the weekends relaxing.

I still work those hours despite her being at secondary school now and catching the bus both ways.
