Inspired by the school thread

I would say , having to cover other peoples shifts who choose not to bother to show up

OP posts:

The expectation that I will have my company car available for other people to use (fine) but nowhere to park. Well, £8.50/day. Train fare would be cheaper, but then my car wouldn't be available for other people to use.

YorkshireLurker · 06/03/2018 22:04

Business speak.

"Just link in with X to incentivise those deliverables. There's some low hanging fruit but we don't need to boil the ocean"

Fuck right off Grin

hotcrossbunsandtea · 07/03/2018 08:07

People who need to have every little thing explained to them, every day!

strawberrysparkle · 07/03/2018 08:12

Those people that arrive at 09.05 in the morning then spend 20 minutes making a coffee and saying hi to everyone when they were meant to start at 9.

ButteredScone · 07/03/2018 08:13

‘Going forward’

See also, emails without salutations.

heron98 · 07/03/2018 09:22

How much of my life it takes up.

Kissmycousinkate · 07/03/2018 09:27

Abbreviating every marketing campaign, SMP, DHSS, etc, not the ones but you get the jist, I frantically have to work out what's been said in any meeting, emails etc

PistFump · 07/03/2018 09:28

Having to schlep around the country covering someone else's job whilst heavily pregnant with spd. Not my idea of a good time.

AskingForAnEnemy · 07/03/2018 09:30

Same as strawberrysparkle people who swan in late then make a cuppa and stand about chatting when there's stuff to be doing

RebootYourEngine · 07/03/2018 09:32

I hate the expectation from management. You go above and beyond for them and you get no thanks at all for it.

SlothMama · 07/03/2018 10:44

For me it's when someone tells you something then the next day says something completely different. Makes me rage!

hotcrossbunsandtea · 07/03/2018 11:05

When a system/rule changes, and nobody tells me - that drives me mad. So I do it the way I've always done it, then someone tells me it's wrong!

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 07/03/2018 11:11

People who cc in the head teacher when asking me something simple that they should already know. No I'm not going to tell you when your playground duty is again, even if you do cc in the head. Look at the rota ffs.

cablewable · 07/03/2018 11:17

Total lack of appreciation, feeling like a number and knowing that you're totally replaceable. The joys of having a crap job whilst the kids are young 😢😩

insancerre · 07/03/2018 11:22

When you've had a fantastic day with the children and you relay the fun you've all had back to the parents and that one parent gives you a withering look and says " but little Tarquin can only go outside when there is no chance of rain when the wind blows from the south and he is wearing his yellow socks, not his blue ones"

Polarbearflavour · 07/03/2018 21:09

Just having to go there at all!

MrNewcastle · 09/03/2018 11:20

the distance away from where i live

ImNotWhoYouThinkIAmOhNo · 09/03/2018 22:11

  1. Doing stuff that's part of some else's job description, because they've decided it isn't any longer, and the manager is on their side.
  2. Digging the same person out of two different holes of their own making twice in 2 years. I got no thanks either time.
  3. Doing stuff that's in another person's job description, because they are covering for a colleague who is off sick indefinitely.
  4. Doing all the above and continuing to do my own job very well, yet my manager blames me to other people for things outwith my control.

Can you see a theme here?! Angry

shouldaknownbetter · 12/03/2018 20:06

My shady, backstabbing boss who has zero integrity. Who mushroom manages me. Who is paid a ridiculous amount of money and cannot do her job.

Helpmeltb · 12/03/2018 20:15

Oh yes to management speak. Doesn't really happen in the team I'm on but I was in a meeting where one team kept rattling on about "lack of real estate" - it's space on a fucking screen.

Colleagues who don't listen/can't grasp a concept after multiple explanations from various people so you/your boss get more and more abrupt repeating yourself.

Helpmeltb · 12/03/2018 20:18

Sending emails with step by step guides for a process only for most people to ignore it, miss half the steps meaning it takes you ages longer to sort out than it should.

Sending emails that people don't read, then having to repeat youself when people complain it's not working.

BikeRunSki · 12/03/2018 20:18

My line manager going away furva month, avd keaving me to do his job as well as mine in his absence. At year end too..... grr....
