I felt sick when i had to go back to work. I managed to change it so i was only going back 2 days a week. is there any way that you could do something like that?

Kizzy - sympathies!

I went back to work after 6 months (3 days a week) and I would have done anything not to have to go back (even tried for voluntary redundancy!) - however, on a positive note, I have been back over 3 months now and I don't regret going back at all. In fact I think it would have been a big mistake not to have gone back as DS is absolutely thriving at nursery and it does feel good to be 'me' again at work (including little things like putting make-up on, doing my hair etc)

I absolutely understand how hard it is to go back but wanted you to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel

I went back to work last month after a year off - I had such mixed emotions and loads of wobbles about it (and a couple of melt downs that ended in tears - was I doing the right thing for DS?could I still hold down a job? would I be useless - the thoughts went on). Anyway have been back five weeks and so far its going ok - for me I think the balance of work (I'm three days a week) and home is just about right and I'm enjoying each aspect of my life - I have to say I'm really lucky as DS settled well to nursery and seems to enjoy it. Easy to say but try not to worry (well at least not too much!!) once you get to it might not be as bad as you think. Thinking of you - hope you feel better soon
