Have an interview for HR admin job. Help needed!

Hello,

So I've been trying to get into HR for a while and this week have finally got an interview for an HR Administrator role. It's just maternity cover for 12 months but it's a start and I really want the job.

I put myself through the Level 3 Certificate in Human Resources Practice in 2013 and took my current role as Recruitment Administrator in the hopes that it was a step towards breaking into HR.

Due to various factors including having a baby and being on mat leave, it's taken me this long to have the guts to start applying.

I know I have the potential but just need to know how I can communicate that I have transferable skills and my qualification.

Are there any HR professionals that may be able to give me some interview tips or at least an idea of what to expect?

If you're doing a recruitment administrator role now, that really is hr admin. With a qualification on top, you're perfectly placed to go for this so just be enthusiastic and go for it.

If you have cipd membership you could always have a look on their website to see what the current hot topics are. Read up on Gdpr and the equality act.

Good luck Smile

Thank you @whirlygirly - that's what I was hoping. I'm a bit under confident but figure if they've invited me for an interview based on my CV, then I just have some potential.

I'm definitely going to use the CIPD website and refer back to my old textbooks just to refresh.
