Most (decent) interview questions will ask you for specific examples of situations. They are looking for a format which is:
What the situation / problem was.
What you did / suggested.
What the outcome was.

Taking a minute to think about your response is fine.

So they may ask, "Can you tell me of an example when something youve planned has gone wrong?" And the expected answer would be in the format (1) what i had planned (2) the obstacle that arose (3) how i worked around that and (4 if necessary) what steps ive taken to prevent or reduce that happening in the future.
