Hi All,
I am considering arranging some keeping in touch days with my work to boost my income while im on maternity leave. The issue i have is that im still not totally sure if i want to return to work after my leave finishes. If i get paid for my KIT days will i have to repay it if i dont return to work after my maternity leave?
Thanks

Check whether you will get paid - I found out I wouldn't be paid for KIT days so didn't do any. I've been on matleave twice and taken the full year off both times. I slotted back into work fine without them. I guess it partially depends on what you do for a living though. Thinking about it I don't know anyone that has done them.

It would be in your contract. I went back for kit days and got paid the flat rate for the days I worked and I wouldn't have had to repay anything if I didn't go back. But all company's vary.

KIT days are statutory which means that they will have to pay you for them if you do them. You only do them if you both agree to them. And you won't have to pay the money back as they're paying you to do a days work. They can only require you to pay money back when it is over and above the statutory requirement.
