childcare for preteen/early teen kids

I have so far managed to do relief termtime jobs which fit around kids. I am looking at some jobs which although part time arent term time. I have no family nearby and husband who works long hours. My kids are 10 and 12. What do people do for the holidays with older kids. Quite alot of afterschool places stop at 12. My oldest is sensible and has let himself in every so often but I wouldnt leave him for long periods. How do other people manage with this age group?

helen - I'm glad you asked this as I was also wondering. I've been working from home for the last 3 years (employed) but my boss has now just changed all that even though he took me on knowing I have no childcare. Sports clubs etc cater for kids up to about 11 but there seems to be nothing for pre-teens at all. I am going to have to try and find a term-time job too
