Hi all,

If my working days are Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and I entitled to an extra days holiday where I miss out on bank holiday Monday?

Or is it tough **it that I don't work a Monday?

What does your contract say about your leave entitlement? It should really be pro-rated.

Your leave entitlement will be pro rata what your full time colleagues get, which means you get a proportion of leave for bank holidays. There are 8 normally in England and Wales, so for 3 days a week you should get 5.

Because you don't work Mondays this means the extra should be added to your total leave entitlement.

So assuming your employer offers statutory minimum, ie 28 days for full timers, 8 of which are taken on bank holidays, you should get a total of 17 paid days off. Where a bank holiday falls on your normal working days, like Good Friday, Christmas etc, that should come out of your total, with the rest available for you to book.
