Hi, I'm employed as an Administrator however because of my past employmenty manager has requested I focus on business development (which I absolutely despise) - I've not been here long, what's the best way to approach the situation?

If it's a request rather than an instruction presumably you are in a position where you can say no? What did you say when your manager had that conversation with you?

It was more like an instruction, that's my focus - I've explained I'm not comfortable doing this however he's quite persistent (given we have a Business Development Manager who's main role is this) very frustrating

Does your contract say you may be required to carry out other duties? Do you have a job description?

I don't have a job description! I wouldn't mind doing it but I'm dreadful at it
