Maternity in work contracts

Sorry if this is a silly question.. should there me a maternity section/ clause in your work contract ? Thanks

Not in the contract but there ought to be a company policy (New Parent Policy/maternity Policy).

There will probably be an expectant mother policy if you can access it, rather than a specific bit in your contract

Knew I had seen it somewhere but just read through contract and not there so must of been in handbook I read before starting
