I was wondering if anyone here is a freelance translator or interpreter? Is it possible to do this without any formal qualifications in translation or interpretation? My degree was sort of a joint honours with French, which I know is not the most sought-after language like given lots of people can speak French here. Is it possible to pick up odd jobs doing this or is it not possible? I'm not looking to make it a FT career thing, more just wondering whether it would be a way to make some extra money with small projects now and then but I don't know where to start or whether it's possible? I won't be surprised to be told that it's not possible given the over-supply of French speakers here and my lack of specific qualifications.
