Manager flirting with co worker

user892810 · 24/01/2018 20:33

Just after some advice, manager has been in role for 7 months and the past 2 months has been openly flirting with a coworker.
She is desperate for a boyfriend and constantly asks members of staff if they know of anyone. She has spoken about single members of staff and has made comments such as "I'm not that desperate"
Should we ignore the way she acts or should she be reported.

Is what she's doing disrupting the workplace? Is she failing to fulfil her job role in some way? Is she behaving in an unprofessional manner?

If she's just flirting, and chatting about how being single is rubbish, then I can't see what you would report her for.

Report it to who?

What do you class as flirting?

daisychain01 · 26/01/2018 08:22

I'd speak to her, not report her up the chain, that's not right. Sounds like she needs a gentle reminder that being at work isn't a dating agency and she needs to build up her social life.

Report her for what exactly? And to whom?

Maybe log it with 101 Confused

replace the word She with He and people would be saying to report as sexual harassment.

Flirting in the work place is a no go or should be as its so unprofessional specifically what she was saying about single collages.

Imagine the uproar of a male manger that wanted a partner people suggest female members of staff and he said hes not that despite its wrong on so many levels, I personally would report her to HR as its a sexual harassment claim waiting to happen.

I would ask the people she is harassing if they want support from you. Then if they want to make a complaint they know they have a witness/support.
