Help me second guess this one!

So, applied for PERFECT job 2 months ago. They quickly called (while abroad) for brief phone interview - two weeks before the date the employer had said they would be holding interviews.

Then had further phone call two weeks after that. It was a full interview by phone. It went ok in my opinion - not brilliantly but not badly. Weirdly was advised at the end not to be surprised if I saw job re-advertised as they hadn't had much interest.

I kept my eyes peeled but it wasn't readvertised and meanwhile I was called in for formal interview two days ago. I think it went well, good rapport and while it was tough it was the very best I could do. They said I would hear in a couple of days. Said they'd need to speak with various people and then HR would be in touch.

It's been a really drawn out process for my dream job. Quite a niche area. I've literally thought about this every day for two months (plus all the prep time), and it's not even my job yet!

Anyone in HR out there? Is this normal protocol and is it looking in my favour?? I'm so impatient now and I just want to know!! Interview was Monday and I've heard nothing.

Interview was Monday and I've heard nothing.

That's very normal - I'm part of a tiny team and it can still take a week+ to get approvals for a candidate!

Ok, thanks. I guess I thought after the last interview it would be a straight yes or no. So impatient!
