My annual appraisal was due in july but i was off on mat leave. I did the paper work etc about targets and stuff but never heard anything. I then went on sick for 5 months with pnd. i'm back now but i haven't had a payrise for my appraisal plus i just found out that the team as a whole had a pay review in january. would i be cheeky asking about a payrise considering i'm only in my 2nd week back or would i be entitled to one?

ps - they don't garuntee a payrise with your appraisal

You need to raise this issue and ask them to justify why you haven't received one. Surely it would be based on performance up to the time the appraisal was due when I am assuming you were at work.

If they haven't given one becuase of the maternity leave then it would be deemed direct sex discrimination.

It would be useful if you could find out if anyone else didn't get one and one others got.

absolutely not cheeky - this is exactly what the legislation is there to protect you from.
