Im a dance teacher

I'm only going off odd things I read on in the internet and now I'm unsure.

I know that I cannot claim transport costs from where i am working to home.

I did read somewhere that late nights can be an exception, is there any truth to this or is it a lot of rubbish? When i carry out work at this place, i normally leave after 9.30pm.

It's rubbish. It only applies to employees, not self employed, and wouldn't apply as early as 9.30 anyway. It's to cover the costs of taxi's etc for staff who've been working so late there's no public transport to get them home.
