How long to wait for employer to sort out pay miscalculation?

My pay was short about 23 hours this month.

Informed them on Tuesday. How long should I have to wait for them to sort it out?

I'd chase today. Shouldn't take long to check their records at all.

Depends on-

Why the mistake was made.
Whether payroll agree with your assessment.
Whether your manager agrees with your assessment.
How efficient the relevant people are.
How involved/complex internal approval processes for things are.
