Commuting / Juggling baby advice - Chislehurst / Battersea

I'm returning to work at the end of February and luckily my employer has been relitively flexibel on my return to work (DS will be 10 months old) allowing me to flex my start time and finish earlier and 1 day from home.
The thing thats stressing me out is that I live in Chislehurst and work in Battersea (just down from Clapham common). I previously bus/train/overground commuted which takes 1.5 hours morning and same at night but to start work at 7:30am public transport just wont get me there on time!
We were planning on me getting a car and leaving at 6:30am for the hour drive to work, but when i start weighing up cost of car, insurance, permit in battersea or cost of parking plus petrol it adds up quickly.

Has anyone done a similar commute/ drive or combination and has any tips or advice! I need to start that early (my husband will do childminder drop off am) so i can leave at 4, get back to baby for 5 and at least get to see him for a little bit each day :(

Anyone familiar with the areas and can suggest a half drive/half commute combo I'm not familiar with? or knows of cheaper parkign in the battersea area etc etc...Open to anything!
