I would like to train to be an audiologist

I have a physics degree and before my son was born I worked in radiological protection. I really enjoyed working in health physics, but I have moved to a different area of the country. I've got interested in audiology because my father in law and my son both have hearing impairments.

I was wondering what the best route into audiology is. (ie. would I have to do another degree?) What is the best way of getting work experience?

I would rather work for the NHS than as a private dispenser because I don't want to work on commission.

Hi Frances, I don't know whereabouts you are based, but I used to work in the Human Sciences Group at Southampton Uni and they offer an MSc in Audiology. www.soton.ac.uk/postgraduate/pgstudy/programmes/2007/isvr/msc_pg_dip_audiology.html
