advice re Xmas day etc

first of all I don't have a contract and my work seems to change its mind whenever it likes regards holidays etc, I have been there 8 years and I'm trying to get a better job but it's not easy

anyway I normally work mon and tue, work was closed both days this year on 25th/26th and the 1st/2nd jan and I was told I have to use days from my holiday allowance if I want paid for those days

does that sound right?

Yes if its closed on days you normally work then those days come out of your holiday entitlement. Do you get 5.6 weeks worth of holiday?
