Hi
My DD is 14 months and I work 4 days per week, one from home. She's in nursery 2 days per week and my parents look after her 2 days. I am seriously considering going back full time after Christmas, when DD will nearly be 2. Has anyone else done this? Is it that much of a jump? We're moving house so we could really do with the money..... but I think I'd miss DD and the day we have together....
Thanks in advance....

hi auntyspan just noticed your post! Your working week sounds the same as mine. I used to work 3 days until we moved house then I increased to 4 cos we needed the money. Last year I was offered a F/T job, which would have been good careerwise but I wasn't ready to put dd in F/T childcare - time is short, she is only little once and I would miss my day with her. So I decided to stay put and do 4 days. I think it does make a difference, my friend used to work F/T and then went down to 4 days, she really noticed the difference. If you can afford it, I'd stick with the 4 days until your dd is at school?

Have you done the figures? You may find with extra tax and extra childcare costs you may not make anything like as much extra money as you think. It sounds to me as if you have a really good arrangement atm. Are you just thinking about going back f/t for the money or for other reasons? Also I think your dd will get more fun to be with.

I went from 4 days a week to 5 between baby number 1 and 2 then luckily went to 3 days a week.

it was hard but I had to make do as I wanted the job and the money/benefits were good.
