Contracted hours

I'm getting concerned now it's a quieter period at work I may be sent home & therefore not work my contracted hours.. is this allowed?

I don't think we could financially manage on less money than my contracted hours.

What does your contract say?

Smarshian · 28/12/2017 21:04

If you are contracted to a certain number of hours then you are entitled to be paid them or work them. They cannot reduce this without your agreement. The only reason you wouldn't be paid them would be if you didn't work hours given to you (for sickness etc) and even then only if you don't get sick pay.

It would depend on whether there are any clauses in your contract about annualised hours.

So I'm contracted to 20 hours (5 days over 7), but will only be working 16 hours due to being quiet & then reducing hours.

I've looked & There is a clause in the contract which states you may work reduced hours at quieter times.
So I guess I just have to deal with it ?
Just a bit frustrating, as I don't know how long this will go on for or by how many hours my contract will be cut down by.
