Do you sell on Amazon?

I'm thinking about it for my craft stuff, but it seems like it's a 75p + 17.5% one fee and another 9% of something else.

Seems way higher than eBay and selling at the same price I sell in person Amazon would make most of the profit!

It is much higher than eBay. You have a selling fee plus a payment processing fee. It is much cheaper for businesses as it is businesses they want on there.

I tried selling Books and dvd’s and i stopped as it was costing me more money than i was making

It’s good for selling rare/expensive books that wouldn’t sell on eBay.

It's horses for courses. If you do it professionally Amazon can be great, but it takes effort and time. To get a good product rank on Amazon is tricky and sometimes you have to sell at a discount or offer vouchers to effectively buy your way you way to the top. There is a useful guide here trustr.cloud/blog/2018/06/28/how-to-rank-well-on-amazon/

As a hobby eBay may be easier. But if you are interested in Amazon so also consider Fruugo. Not as busy as Amazon but less competition.

I sell craft stuff on Amazon and ebay.
Fees work out the same either way.
Big advantage with Amazon is that you don't pay to list- only when you make a sale.
