Leaving work

I work nights in the community and tonight is my last night for this job, after my 4 weeks notice.. I've worked here for 24 years.
AIBU to feel hurt for not even getting a txt from my manager/supervisor?

You would have been annoyed by a simple text also! Twenty-four years and then nothing! :-(

YANBU at all 🙁🙁

I can only hope you get card / flowers after you've finished?

Why are you leaving out of interest? I’m wondering if this lack of any kind of send off by means of a phone call/text is the same reason you’re going..

Hopefully you will be working with some colleagues tonight and they will give you a little send off. Yes I would be really upset too. At my workplace if someone works nights and finishes they would still have a daytime send off / tea party with tea and cake paid for by the workplace.

Blodpod, i think you hit the nail on the head there.. that's exactly why I'm leaving. Those who should, don't seem to care anymore, dont seem to comminicate either.. Sad
Thankyou for reminding me why I need to move on. The moral of the tale should be.. Don't expect anything, and you'll never be disappointed!

I expect during your 24 years, the management has changed several times, so even though you have amassed a service history to be proud of, the management don't value that because they haven't been around all that time.

Their loss.
