HR and hinting done well in interview- then nothing!

I had a F2F interview- is it natural for HR to say “you’re their favourite so far” and then “were delayed due to unexpected business travel but you’re still in the running”. That was 2.5 weeks ago then nothing. I’ve sent a request for an update. Originally they said they wanted to tell people first week in December but with the delay?

I wouldn't expect anything until the New year. Recruitment cycles seem to be very long this year. It sucks but keep up the search and maybe leave it until next week to chase again.
