If you work for an employer who doesn't pay sick pay can they dock a full days wage if you leave mid shift, or should you be paid for the hours worked. Salaried employee if that makes any difference.

If you are contractually hourly paid, then they have a straight forward way of calculating how many hours lost and deducting that from your pay. If your line manager accurately reported your absence to the payroll department, then they should only deduct for sickness, so best to check with your line manager whether they reported you went off duty mid-shift. They shouldn't take off a full day if you worked some of it.

Do you have proof you worked half of your shift?
