where would I find a mum business partner?

Hello all,

I had my second darling critter (dc) a few months ago and am now wanting more than ever to start my own business. I have found something which has a high barrier to entry (hard to source fabric) but i is still within the risky world of clothing start ups. I am doing everything myself and I am missing some skills. I can outsource some of them but ultimately would love to find a business partner who has a work ethic like me (I work pretty hard) and ambition. I see mums starting baby clothing businesses and want to tell them to join me instead! I have seen so many baby clothing businesses start, enjoy a brief little rocket launch and then go bust... I have tried mums groups, local people.... where would I go about finding one? I know most people hook up with friends but I dont really have many mum friends as my background is legal in the city...

I have tried friends of friends.

As tempting as it might be to suggest there is something wrong with me :) (maybe there is) any practical advice would be very much appreciated..

Well done for starting a business. Exactly what skills are you looking for ? Does the partner have to contribute cash to have a share of the business & how much?

Yes it's true most businesses fail within the 1st year. I would recommend you to read as to why these companies fail so you avoid their mistakes and survive.

Hi, I’m also looking for a business partner - I’m finding working on my own is getting hard and I think 2 people spur each other on.

I have been looking for a while and it’s not easy - hence this current search!

What part of the country are you in? I’m in Hampshire.. may be we could put 2 heads together, even if it’s only for moral support!
