What could I retrain as?

I was a drama teacher, the job made me very unwell. I ended up with chronic fatigue and had to quit. I do a wee bit of freelance teaching but I am not well enough to do too much. I do some marking in exam season which is great as I am using what I know and I can pace myself but it's only once a year. I need to do something else that offers flexibility and doesn't demand lots of me physically. All I know how to do is make plays though. Looking for suggestions!

website design? You invest in the skills in your own time at little cost.
And if it doesn't work out and you end up doing something else, at least you'll be able to design your own website!

I’m a Drama teacher and I’m constantly thinking of what else I could do. I often think that I’d like to set up a baby class/group as I’ve been to sooo many with my nearly 2 year that I’m sure I could do it. It’s just the fear of giving up stability and a good wage that stops me. Will now lurk for other ideas!

I have issues with my throat, I still deliver sessions but I can't sustain it for long. I used to have lots of classes but had to strip it right back.
I'm shit at IT so that would be a steep learning curve. I wish I could mark all year round, I love it. So interesting and uses my skills set. I looked at learning how to teach youth mindfulness, might be more low key than drama but I can't afford it.

I'm not a bad writer, maybe there's something there I could do from home.

ok so you want to mark and have expertise in it? focus on that!
You need to become a marker for the TEFL exams done by overseas students. my mum did these in batches for decades.
No doubt you'll need some degree of requalification but as you have QTS that shouldn't be too bad.

Something like this:
A friend of mine who is a drama teacher wrote a book for them, I think.

Obviously that's a bit low paid compared to teaching- I don't know if they still employ freelance drama writers.

Corporate role play . Big industry and you will have the skills
plotmissinginaction · 15/11/2017 13:07
Actually I could do role play! I'm rural but there's a city an hour away. I'm going to research that!
That link is also interesting! I'm Scottish trained so might hold me back but I think I could learn another framework.

Could you do a bit of freelance work as a film or tv extra? Or maybe a part time teaching assistant? Hope you find something you love

I need help with my university project please which is web design and development. I need to do a telephone interview with at least four parents who have a child who does extra maths tuition. I’m looking for parents with children between reception and year six. The interview will take no more than 15 mins of your time. I want to make my project as realistic as possible.
