Oil industry jobs - are things improving?

Hi - was just wondering whether people feel that the oil industry job outlook is improving? I have a few engineer friends who have been out of work for a long time but just recently seem to be getting interviews etc. Are things finally starting to get better?

I don’t know about the oil industry specifically, but I’d advise you to have skills that are portable across different industries. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

I’m amazed that your friends with engineering qualifications can’t find a job for ages, what? The skills shortage for engineers is well known in every industry .
