How long after job closes would you expect to hear?

I applied for a job at a charity (if that's relevant) and the closing date was last Friday. I haven't heard anything back - would you have expected to by now?

2 weeks then I would assume I didn’t get it. But sometimes it takes an age for people to get back to you.

I would expect to hear the following week, if they want applicants to attend interview, or at least for them to acknowledge the candidates’ application and to say ‘we’re setting up interviews between x and y date’, otherwise they could risk losing people’s interest.

Have you considered contacting them tomorrow Friday, to ask them whether they want to see you as you are interested in their role and think you’d be ideal for the job? If it’s a charity maybe they are short staffed and some contact from you would be welcomed.

In my (huge) organisation things take a veeeeeeery long time to conclude. A hire I was involved in this year was first advertised for 2 weeks at the start of June. Interview invites sent 3rd week July for 1st two weeks of August. Role offered last week of October. Ridiculous I know but don't panic is my message!
