Im looking for some advice please. I work 5 1/2 hours everyday straight through with no break. It's a physically hard job. Am I allowed to have a 5/10 minute break in that time to eat something and how would I ask my employer for a 5 min break?

Sorry no. You're entitled to 20 mins if you work over 6 hrs.

You are entitled to a 20 min break after 6 hours. Breaks sooner than this is at your employers discretion (uk)

Albeit that there's an overriding duty re health and safety so if it's really tough there's an argument for an (unpaid) break.
