Qualified secondary teacher - can I work at a nursery?

A maternity cover role has just been advertised at my daughters nursery/pre-school. I think it would be a good opportunity to be involved with her education but also get me some more experience as I haven't actually had a permanent job in teaching since I qualified before she was born and I'm not 100% set on continuing as a secondary teacher.

I teach languages and I think they've just lost a Mexican nursery worker who did Spanish with the kids, so I think they would like that I'm just not sure if I'd be wasting my time applying as my experience and qualifications are with MUCH older children.

Any experiences or advice? Thanks

You would be qualified to work in a nursery but you would need to have some training on child development and the EYFS. I would imagine
