Maternity pay?

Hi,

I've only recently become self employed (in the last 3 months) and have now just found out I'm pregnant. Obviously it is very early days for the pregnancy, but I'm just a bit worried as I'm not sure I understand all the information I'm finding on the internet!

Can I get statutory maternity pay or any sort of Maternity pay?

Thanks for reading!

When I was self employed I got Maternity Allowance

You will get maternity allowance provided you have your national insurance contributions up to date and you are earning enough. It is all done through the dwp so contact them for advice. Do it early in case you need to pay extra national insurance?

Hi all,
Is anyone doing a mix of self-employed and PAYE work? That's my case at the moment and trying to find the right organisation to contact for advice is a bit of a minefield... I'd love to hear your experiences.
Thanks!
