Anyone else have a website? Can we help each other promote them?

Not sure how to word this. Basically I have a new website and am trying to get increased traffic to help appear higher in Google searches. It strikes me there are probably others in the same boat, so I wondered if we could all help each other in some way by searching for and visiting each other's websites, maybe also give constructive advice?
Sorry if this is deemed as marketing or inappropriate. If so let me know and I'll request mn remove the thread.

Nobody?
I wasn't going to post my website pin here, but would pm details in exchange for doing the same for anyone else.
Hamiltoes · 06/10/2017 18:22
Hi!
I'd be up for that. I'm also trying to boost followers on instagram etc, about to reach my first 500!
If you pm me the details I can do the same
Justchillaxing · 06/10/2017 18:55
That's great thanks. I'll pm the details to you, pm me yours and I'll have a look. Just to clarify, no need to look at anything on the site, not trying to drum up sales or anything, just trying to get Google to acknowledge me!

You need to do some research around this! There are loads of books and websites on the topic:

Thanks for the link

Although a nice thought, sharing on Mumsnet won't help that much. Google aims to serve its searchers the best result for their enquiries.
It certainly uses links between sites to judge a sites relevance, if these links are between sites with nothing in common - it won't help either of you.
I hold workshops on search engine optimisation, there's loads of other actions which will have a lot more influence on your search ranking which might be worth reviewing first.
Justchillaxing · 09/10/2017 20:35
Thanks.
It wasn't so much a link between websites I was thinking about as just people visiting the site and googling it.
I've read hundreds of articles on seo but as I'm using an all in website design thing online a lot of it means nothing to me sadly. I don't have the funds to pay someone to set up the website for me so am just doing the best I can. Any tips welcome though!

We've just improved our rankings slightly by putting our company info onto free online business directories.
Don't do too many at once though as it can have the opposite effect!
Justchillaxing · 09/10/2017 21:44
Thanks!
JD360 · 09/10/2017 21:49
I can't help with advertising but I'd like to look at your websites just out of curiosity?
Justchillaxing · 10/10/2017 00:00
Thanks JD360, I'll pm you.

OP sadly visits won't really have an effect either. I'd also worry about sending to directories as there's quite a lot of recent evidence to suggest that Google is actively trying to fight this 'loophole'.
I specialise in DIY websites though, and most of my clients are just like you. I've written a couple of articles on SEO for people who have absolutely no idea what SEO is, if you're interested PM me and I'll send links ;)
Justchillaxing · 10/10/2017 14:01
That's very kind, thank you, I've pm'd you.
RiojaHaze · 12/10/2017 08:09
What's your website? If it's relevant to mine I'm happy to exchange back links.
Justchillaxing · 12/10/2017 14:21
Thanks I've pm'd you.

Our website is maintained by the company who developed it for us. They use algorithms of some sort to keep the Google rating high. It's a service we pay for as a package of other stuff but we find it's worth it and we are not a large business by any means.
We never carry advertising on our website.

- Find a foreign Search Engine Optimisation service to promote your website, although you will see results in weeks not days
- Most of web register companies have a SEO anyway: check Hostgator, BigDaddy etc
- Use Google for promoting your site: register with them and then pay weekly or monthy etc
Unfortunately everything is down to promotion for which you have to pay and see results as mentioned above. Reach me here if you need help or to have a look at your site as I am involved in this for almost 2 decades now.

Thanks for the information!

Yeah, these days is better to contact an SEO company to help you to promote your site, product, service, etc. However, to promote each other is not a bad idea, but I don't know if it has a big impact, especially that both of you are beginners. To be honest, I started to promote myself without any help and there weren't any changes. Then one of my friends recommended trying Develux SEO Services: develux.com/seo-services as he told me that it worths its money and I will see the results very quickly. I don't regret that I followed his advice.

Yes, unfortunately, it used to be easy to get visitors. Now there is a lot of competition and you have to go to specialized companies. But before you PR your site, make sure that it is comfortable and has a modern design, otherwise the user won't stay on it. I heard that custom software innovecs.com/ is very popular now. So you can make a unique site for all your needs.
