Amazon v. Microsoft as an employer

Hi,

I wondered if anyone might know what it's like working in Amazon compared to Microsoft at a high grade IT role? A friend of mine has offers from both but is a bit worried about the reputation of Amazon for being hard on their staff.

Thanks!

Have you looked on Glass door.com cor reviews. They are only indicative but may help a bit.

I'd choose Microsoft over Amazon, however, they are both North American companies so would both expect their pound of flesh.

I would choose Microsoft - mainly because I worked there for 6 years....

Microsoft is rated higher than Amazon on glassdoor.com. From talking to friends who have worked at these companies I would choose Microsoft over Amazon.

I'd rather work at either Google or Microsoft. Not Amazon.

I think I read somewhere Google give employees an Innovation day every few weeks, to try different ideas out which sounds cool.

I don't think I'd choose either, having had a less than desirable experience with a US company, but if my arm were twisted, Microsoft.

Microsoft. The reviews of Amazon make it sound like a very difficult environment to work in.

I've never worked at Microsoft, but having worked at Amazon- I'd definitely say Microsoft
