I've just started a job (2yr contract) on 25th of this month. I have been on Income Support since I had my 3yo and been claiming HB and CT support since Aug 2016 when I moved into the house I live in now. I have come off IS as of my start date so no gaps in claiming/work, and I'm not entitled to any further payments (fine) and I don't get paid for a month (fine) however I've now received a letter saying I don't fulfill the conditions to receive the HB run on. Does anyone know why? Or what I should do now? When I spoke to them about cancelling my claim, they said I would be entitled and this greatly affected my decision to go back to work. I am entitled to £200ish working tax but my childcare is £190 so that doesn't help much, and of course the normal Child Benefit and child tax but again this doesn't equal the extra I'd have to pay plus this is already worked out for other things. I am better off working on normal months (if I got paid straight away etc) but after everything I pay out only by about £200. My rent is just over £400 a month, my wage (which I don't receive until the 23rd October!!) is just over £1100. Now I'm working my landlord won't accept rent in arrears so if I don't get the payment I'll have to quit and go back on IS because I can't afford £800 out of my first wage! I've already had to lend money to keep us going until I get paid and I can't lend a substantial amount from anyone I know. So it's either get evicted or quit my job if they don't pay it.. no wonder people don't bother
