Work for a local authority?

Does anyone work for a local authority? Do you know if your LA allow you to go for internal interviews (not your department but still your LA) without taking the time as leave?

Hi yes

Our local authority gives us time off to attend any interview within the council.

Yes - and also for interviews within other local authorities (but of course only if you tell them that's what you're doing - it doesn't work if you want to keep it secret!)

I’m not fussed about keeping it a secret if it means I get tile off without taking leave. I have read my LAs handbook and can’t find anywhere that it mentions time off. I might call HR and ask then, I don’t really want my line manager to know if it doesn’t benefit me to let them know in advance however I have told them I am keeping an eye out for more senior roles so it would not be a complete shock.
