Name change.
I've been offered a job which I desperately, desperately need. All was OK but I need to fill out a form asking about previous convictions (none) and so forth. It also asks if I've ever been fired. It uses that term if it matters. I have. I was useless at the job. It was almost 10 years ago and I've been employed since. Obviously as they've asked I need to tell the truth. I'm quite upset. There is a box for further info. I was thinking of putting the below. Does it sound OK? I really, really need this job. It's not a management role.
HR people - what is the real likelyhood they'll tell me to get lost? I know you can't say for certain but in your experience.
In (date) I left (employer). I had worked in the organisation succesfully for x years in a number of roles and had always received positive feedback.
In (date) I was offered and accepted a management position at (employer) Unfortunately my management style was not a good fit for the team and after x months in the role I was let go.
I learnt a lot from that time both professionally and personally which I have applied positively to my subsequent roles.
Prior to taking on that position and in all my roles since then I have been succesful and I have always received positive appraisals.
I am committed to working at a high standard and am able to provide a number of references.
