returning to work pregnant, after maternity leave

Hi, I am on maternity leave (hopefully until December 2007) but I want another child pretty soon. Do I need to plan the timing carefully in order to get the most benefit from work? Say, for example, if I go back to work on 1 December 2007, do I need to be at work for three months before I can go on additional maternity leave again, and therefore should I try to be only five months pregnant when I return? Does that make sense?!
Is there anything else I need to be aware of or think about?
Apologies if this subject has already been dealt with before.

I would think it would depend on your company and their maternity policy.

Maternity leave counts as continuous service, so you can go back as pg as you like, I think!

As others have said, maternity leave counts as continuous service. It's fine.

You only need to plan the timing in terms of maternity pay.

You will be entitled to leave etc as normal (now 52 weeks).

With pay, the average 8 weeks up to and including the qualifying week (15th week before due)are used to calculate average earnings. You need to earn enough (£84 pw)to qualify for maternity pay and also if you are going to get the higher rate (90%) for the first 6 weeks

just to add to ck's - i had to do 3mths before being pg again to ensure they paid my salary too.

I went back to work pregnant after DD, worked one term before going on mat leave for DS2. I guess with maternity leave getting longer more and more people will be in this situation.
