Hi all,

I am desperately seeking a new job. I was interviewed yesterday and they said we will be notified either by the end of the day, or today. I've still not heard anything. I am going out of my mind.

When would you say it is appropriate to contact the Chair? I guess my contacting will make no difference to the outcome. But I'd know and be able to think straight.

Could you ring them under the guise of thanking them for seeing you? The recruitment agency that I used said that sending a "thank you letter" was a must these days. I think a call would probably be OK too maybe... You could always try it from that point of view. Good luck

End of the day yesterday or today? To soon to contact them then. If you've not heard anything by the end of today, which is the deadline they mentioned, you could ring them, so tomorrow.

It is today, I presume that will mean the rest of it, argh!

For the sort of job it is, you don't usually really follow up (unless you haven't heard for ages). But I always assume if I don't hear fast its a no-go. I guess I must wait till the end of the day. Ridiculous but I can't think of anything else.

I hate that! Is there a recruitment person you can call rather than the chair?
