Hi my do has been made redundant and found another job from an old work colleague so didn't have to provide a cv. It's not what he thought, and because this was lined up naively didn't accept any help from original employer re cv writing etc.

It's been a long time since I had to do one so feel a bit out of the loop can you recommend and sites that may point us in the right direct.

If the redundancy has only been a recent thing, could he get in touch and ask if they can give him the details of the Outplacement company just to give him some support with his CV. Sometimes there is a time limit within which the offer of support is still available after redundancy.

It may be a long shot but if you don't ask you don't get.
