Only know of others who have returned pregnant but they have always qualified for further maternity leave. Have a feeling that it's only 11 or 13 weeks that you have to work but will have a quick google.

This site has some legal info and suggests that it quite possible to start maternity leave for a second time without returning back to work.

Hi hope someone can help me, i returned to work 7 weeks ago after taking nine months maternity leave and have now discovered i am pregnant again , can anyone tell me if i am entitled to anymore maternity leave/pay??????

Yes, you are entitled. You have been continuously employed, even if not working, and you will satisfy the rule for 'employed for 26 weeks by 25 weeks of pregnancy'.

You will also qualify for SMP based on your wage in the eight weeks from when you are 18-26 weeks pregnant.

So, the only issue is how far along in your pregnancy you are. If you are more than 25 weeks pregnant, you will find that you weren't actually paid anything in weeks 18-26, so aren't entitled to SMP, but will be entitled to Maternity allowance.

However, I take it that as you say you have just found out, you are unlikely to be that far gone.
